Spitalfields Market is an ever changing epicentre of cool in East London and that’s where you’ll find the gorgeous Blixen.
Blixen was once a bank, and is now a European style cafe for all day dining and drinking. It’s a perfect destination for work meetings in the morning and for cocktails in the evening.
They have just relaunched their garden room, a conservatory with an abundance of greenery, which is a welcome, peaceful haven in a busy city. The garden room faces Spitalfields market and is a great spot for people watching.
As well as the garden room there’s a downstairs bar, restaurant, private dining room and an outdoor seating area. As Blixen has so many different areas to choose from, it can cater for many occasions including a cosy date, catch up with colleagues after work or a private event.
You can pop to Blixen for a snack, an indulgent 3 course meal or just cocktails. Everyone is catered for from beautiful meat and fish dishes and vegan meals. Main courses start from £15.50 and snacks from £3. I’m a vegetarian and I loved the cauliflower fingers, that were in fact balls, but were nonetheless delicious and also the nan bread pizza.
At weekends you can indulge in brunch to fuel your shopping in Spitalfeilds market and Brick Lane.
Drinks are priced very reasonably for a trendy East London bar with cocktails from £9, beer from £5 and wine from £5.50.
There’s a good atmosphere in Blixen it’s relaxed and cool. Quite an accomplishment In a busy and buzzy Spitalfields market.
The Garden Room
Blixen has the wow factor, it’s gorgeous and friendly without being pretentious. The staff are great and the atmosphere relaxed, especially in the garden room
I want to return for the amazing looking French toast for Sunday morning brunch, Lululemon opposite has free yoga 10 am, so that would be a perfect after yoga treat !
